King Coconuts

King coconut is a variety of coconut and is native to Sri Lanka and is known as Thambili. It has less sugar content than regular coconuts. There are several sub-varieties of king coconut. King coconut is used in herbal medicine.

King coconuts have an elongated oval shape, with a pointed end opposite of the stem. The skin has a bright orange colour and is measured from 20 to 30 centimetres in length. They are harvested at around 7 to 8 months of maturity.

The sweet and flavorful liquid within the nut contains electrolytes and minerals required for the human body. King coconuts are available around the year.
